It is a continuation of ascot rd, 5 mins from Auckland airport and 2 mins from the industrial area of airport oaks. It is a maori village with history that dates back pre european times since the first human occupation when the Tainui canoe arrived. The descendants of the ancestor Rakataura/Hape still reside there today. Currently where the village is situated is only a small portion of the surrounding area that was confiscated by the crown.
